| Your class will work with a water-absorbent polymer to study its
properties under various conditions. They'll measure the polymer
absorption characteristics with various solutions while exploring
the factors which impede absorbency. In the process, students will
learn how to calculate absorbency ratios. They will then apply
their results and conclusions to various commercial applications
of these long-chain molecules. They'll also relate their findings
to processes in living cells, such as osmosis.
Includes enough materials for a class size of 40 students.
Recommended for students in grades 7 through 10. Manufactured by
Neo/SCI.
