Modeling Basic Chemical Structures Lab
| Using color-coded plastic manipulatives, your students will
construct a variety of familiar molecules and compounds, including
water; acids and bases; sodium chloride; polymers; soaps and
detergents; and more. In the process, they'll obtain a better
understanding of the three-dimensional configuration of each and
the relationship between structural configuration and chemical
reactivity. Comes complete with student's and teacher's guides
which provide a thorough overview of chemical structure and
bonding; elements, mixtures and compounds; and chemical reactions. |
 |
Your students will:
- Construct molecular structures of acids and bases
- Demonstrate the crystal structure of common salt
- Understand how soaps and detergents work
- Compare the structure of water and ice
- Form a polymer chain
Includes enough materials for a class size of 40
students. Recommended for students in grades 7 through
10. Manufactured by Neo/SCI. |
