Lucite Light Rod

This is a two-foot length of acrylic rod that has been bent in to the curlicue form shown. It is used to demonstrate the "piping" or "bending" of light by total internal reflection in a clear plastic rod.

Both ends of the rod have been cut square, sanded and polished.

Almost any light source, including an ordinary flashlight, may be used.
